Ravens News 9/5: King Henry’s Debut
The Return of a King
After missing the preseason due to a foot injury, Derrick Henry made his highly anticipated debut for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the New York Giants.
Henry, who led the NFL in rushing yards in 2020, showed why he is one of the most feared running backs in the league.
He carried the ball 21 times for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also caught two passes for 15 yards.
A Historic Performance
Henry's performance was one for the ages.
He became the first running back in NFL history to rush for at least 85 yards and a touchdown in each of his first seven games of a season.
He also joined Hall of Famer Jim Brown as the only players in NFL history to rush for at least 85 yards in each of their first nine games of a season.
A Turning Point for the Titans
Henry's return was a major boost for the Titans, who were 0-2 before Sunday's game.
With Henry in the lineup, the Titans offense looked much more dynamic and explosive.
The Titans will now look to build on their momentum as they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Looking Ahead
Henry's debut was a reminder of why he is one of the best running backs in the NFL.
He is a key part of the Titans offense, and his return could be the catalyst for a successful season for the team.
The Titans will need Henry to continue to produce at a high level if they want to make a run at the playoffs.
