My husband and I took a weekend trip to San Jose from Atlanta. We like to visit new cities and try different restaurants. On Saturday night, we decided to go to Balbi Bar, a restaurant that had been recommended to us by a friend. We were not disappointed.

An Authentic Italian Menu

The menu is focused on traditional Italian fare with everything made from scratch. The pasta is housemade and there are lots of seafood options on the menu. We started with the fried calamari and the bruschetta. Both were delicious. For our entrees, I had the spaghetti carbonara and my husband had the lamb chops. Again, both were excellent. They have a great wine list so we shared a bottle of Chianti. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. We had a great evening. Balbi Bar is a great choice for a special occasion or a romantic evening out.

The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is upscale but casual.
